Wanda Coleman to Be Honored at California State University, Los Angeles, May 9

We hope you will join us when Wanda Coleman is honored as the 2013 Jean Burden Poet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, in the Golden Eagle Ballroom at California State University, Los Angeles.

 

Ms. Coleman will be accompanied during her poetry reading by David Crittendon on piano and Tracy Wannomae on saxophone and flute.

 

The Jean Burden Series began in 1986. Since its inception, this endowed annual event has featured such figures as Adrienne Rich, Rita Dove, Lucille Clifton and British Poet Laureate Andrew Motion.

 

This poetry reading is free of charge, open to the public, and will be followed by a book signing. Doors open at 5:45 for a buffet reception.
